Rising Above Hate

Ever let someone else’s negativity drain the fuel in your tank?
Yeah… me too. But you will never rise to your next level if you allow someone’s hate, jealousy, or insecurity to hijack your peace.
Let me tell you the truth about your haters—because some of y’all are giving them way too much power.
If someone sees you as an enemy,
it means you’re important.
If someone talks about you behind your back,
it means you’re relevant.
If somebody tries to take advantage of you,
it means you have value worth taking.
If someone tries to put you down,
it means you’re already above them.
If someone imitates you,
it means you have charisma, style, and influence they wish they had for themselves.
If they doubt you,
it means you’re attempting the kind of things they could never imagine doing.
The older I get, the more I realize:
Criticism, jealousy, shade—whatever form it takes—is often a distorted version of admiration. People rarely waste energy on someone they don’t see as a threat.
So in a strange, twisted way, your haters are your biggest fans.
They study you.
They watch you.
They talk about you.
They follow your moves more closely than your supporters.
But listen—their hate is not a reflection of your worth. It’s a mirror of their own struggles. Their unhealed wounds. Their insecurities. Their fears. Their frustrations with their own lives.
So instead of letting their negativity weigh you down, let it educate you.
Let it strengthen you.
Let it remind you that you’re moving, you’re growing, you’re becoming.
Because the moment you stop being average… the moment you break patterns… the moment you start living with purpose…
you will provoke something in people who are still stuck.
But their discomfort is not your problem.
Wish them well.
Bless them.
Release them.
And get back to work.
You have too much destiny ahead of you to let someone with a wounded spirit pull you off track. Keep rising, keep shining, and keep becoming everything God created you to be.
You’re not here to compete.
You’re here to rise.
Here’s a few Reflection Questions for you:
Whose negativity have I been giving too much power to, and why does it affect me so deeply?
In what areas of my life am I dimming my light to make others comfortable or to avoid judgment?
How can I shift my mindset so that other people’s opinions no longer determine my worth or direction?
What positive actions can I take this week to rise above negativity and stay focused on my purpose?
What does rising above hate look like for me personally—and what’s one step I can take today to walk in that freedom?
Here’s my prayer for you and for me today:
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for reminding us that our worth comes from You alone. When negativity rises up against us, help us stand firm in who You created us to be. Teach us to respond with wisdom, grace, and confidence instead of anger or insecurity.
Lord, guard our hearts from the words and actions of those who misunderstand us, envy us, or project their pain onto us. Strengthen us to rise above hate and to walk boldly in our purpose. Show us how to release bitterness, forgive quickly, and protect our peace.
Fill us with courage to shine bright—even when others try to dim our light. Help us stay focused on the assignment You’ve placed in our hands and trust that You are guiding every step.
Let Your love be the loudest voice in our lives.
Let Your truth anchor our identity.
And let Your Spirit empower us to keep moving forward in victory.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
