You Are Equipped

I once heard a story about a multitude of people being fed with only five loaves and two fish. Thousands were gathered, hungry and waiting, and all they had was what seemed like not enough. Yet when that small offering was placed in the right hands, not only was every person fed — there was an abundance left over. (Matt 14:14-21, Mark 6:30-44, Luke 9:10-17, John 6:5-14)
That story has stayed with me because it’s such a reflection of our lives today. How many times have we looked at our own circumstances and thought, I don’t have enough? Not enough time. Not enough resources. Not enough strength. Not enough faith.
But if we’re honest, it’s not about what we don’t have — it’s about how we see what we do have. When we look through our own limited vision, we see lack. But when we shift our perspective to see through God’s eyes, we begin to realize that He has already equipped us with everything we need to fulfill our purpose and overcome the challenges in front of us.
What Is Your Multitude?
In that story, the multitude represented a great need — something overwhelming and impossible to meet in human strength. And just like that, we all have our own “multitude.”
Your multitude might be the weight of a marriage that needs healing.
It might be the physical pain that won’t let up.
It could be the job you can’t find or the business dream that still feels out of reach.
It might be the addiction trying to drag you backward, or the confusion that tries to pull you into anxiety and despair.
The multitude represents the very thing that feels bigger than you — the situation that makes you question your ability, your worth, or your purpose. But here’s the truth: God has already given you your five and two.
He’s placed something in your hands, even if it seems small. Maybe it’s your faith. Maybe it’s your voice. Maybe it’s your resilience or the lessons you’ve learned from past pain. Whatever it is — that’s your five and two. And when you offer it back to God, He multiplies it.
The Weight Is Not Yours to Carry
This life can feel heavy sometimes. We all have moments where we wonder if we’re equipped to handle what’s in front of us. But the good news is — the weight of life isn’t ours to bear. Our responsibility is not to carry the burden alone, but to trust the One who equips us.
Our job is to trust Him, to keep growing, and to keep going.
Because here’s the thing — everybody wants to see the miracle, but nobody wants to face the moment that requires one.
Everybody wants to see the Red Sea divide, but nobody wants to be the one standing with their toes at the water’s edge.
Everybody wants to see the walls of Jericho fall, but nobody wants to walk around those walls in faith, shouting in obedience before one brick even moves.
Faith doesn’t wait to see results before it acts. Faith moves because it trusts that God has already made provision.
Your Five and Two Are Enough
So today, I want to remind you: don’t look at what you don’t have. Don’t fall for the lie that you aren’t enough. Instead, shift your focus. Look for your five and two — that small thing you’ve overlooked that God can use to multiply blessings in your life.
Your “not enough” becomes “more than enough” when it’s placed in His hands. His favor multiplies what feels small and makes it sufficient to meet the need.
You don’t need to wait until you have it all together. You just need to start with what you have. God can work miracles through what seems little — as long as you’re willing to surrender it and trust Him with it.
You are equipped. You are chosen. And everything you need for this season of your life is already inside of you.
Keep going. Keep growing. Keep trusting.
Because your five and two are more than enough.
